....In relation to finding an area to stay/rent.

Please anyone can advise the 'labelled rough' areas of Bristol, as a newbie I would like to steer clear of these when looking for a flat. Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Best, Designer

Stay clear of Henleaze .... the large number of mobility scooters make it a war zone when Somerfield reduce their produce !

St Pauls is nice and quiet between 6am (ladies have stopped working) and 10am (drug lords are still in bed) ....

Canford is nice and quiet, rent is cheap but you need to be dead to stay there (slight draw back).

And before anyone takes offence at my odd sense of humour ... i live in St Pauls ... My Dad used a mobility scooter in Henleaze until he died last month .. and having been immersed in death since then, i can joke about it (or i will go mad) ...

Lol Tina. The ladies of the night must have moved to Fishponds Road by then because they are there as early as 7.30am in the morning! For the benefit of Niki, Fishponds Road is in Eastville.

My husband was walking up Fishponds Road to go to a Newsagents there a few evenings ago. It was around 6pm. He came across a sex worker and a pimp having an almighty row. My husband tried to pass through them. The sex worker swung a punch at the pimp and hit my husband smack in the eye! It was an accident so I didn't report it to anyone. He had a slight black eye in the morning but it has gone now. I bet he got some stick in work about it because he works with all men.

It could only happen to him ....... !

Tina I thought your post was very amusing. I work in a school near Henleaze Somerfield and I have to take police riot shield out with me at lunchtime to protect my legs from the mobility scooters! Perhaps we could start a new sport - Mobility scooter jousting!

Bristol has a lot of rough area's like any where else. Here is a few.Old Southmead, Most parts of Hartcliffe and Withywood.Lawrence Weston, Stapleton Road,Parts of St Paul and St Agnes.Barton Hill,Parts of Lockleaze, Knowle West.Lawrence hill. The Council should hang there heads in shame.Although you could say some of these places are Benefit dependent. So they don't pay for the things we take for granted.I like to think that every one should live in nice surroundings.
