I don't entirely understand why anyone would find the flashing lights annoying but hey ho. I suspect that many people just hate cyclists period.
Myself, I think anyone using lights at all should be applauded. Even now with the nights drawing in I still see idiots cycling around with no lights. Suicidal morons.

Not a question about hating cyclists, just the Idiots who cycle on footpaths, I have had to jump out of their path many times.

Don't forget the ones that run red lights, or weave in and out of cars, or pull out in front of you then give you the bird because you almost knock them off, or...
