Dear People of Bristol:
My wife's mother, maiden name --Phyllis Lester, left Bristol during the early part of World War II and made her way to the United States. She passed a way a number of years ago and because of the traumatic experience of the war and moving from her family at a realitively young age (14) she was hesitant to talk about her early life and therefore there were many gaps that we would like to fill.
Her mother's maiden name was Hannah Naomi Stephens, her father's name was Charles Lester and from her birth certificate, she was born in Swansea.
If anyone has any recollections, memories, information about Phyllis Lester, please answer this thread.
The family here in Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. is anxious to visit Bristol in the near future. From reading some of the Bristol Evening Post, it sound very similair to our city here.
